A leading tobacco control expert from University College London, has taken aim at Australia’s new vape laws – passed by the Senate last week – which limit the sales of vaping products to pharmacies only.
The Swedish Parliament has agreed to lower the tax on snus by 20 percent. Meanwhile, the tax on cigarettes, cigarillos, smoking tobacco, and other tobacco will rise by nine percent.
Europe is on course to miss its target of being smoke free by 70 years, according to the latest survey on tobacco use in Europe by the European Commission.
Friday, 21st June, Luxembourg. As previously reported by Clearing the Air, a meeting of the Council of the European Union was held today where a ban on flavoured nicotine products was discussed, and supported by a number of key EU Member States.
ETHRA, which represents nicotine consumer organisations in Europe, has written to health ministers across Europe urging them to reject a flavour ban at tomorrow’s European Council meeting.
